Ping helps you find relevant professional contacts in your own network based on a challenge you describe. It reads your contacts, searches the web for context about them, and uses AI to recommend who to reach out to.
The people in your contact list have not consented to being processed by this app. Their data (name, email, org) is used solely to find relevant connections for you. It is not sold, shared with third parties for marketing purposes, or used to build profiles independent of your session.
To find and evaluate contacts, we send data to the following services. By using this app you agree to their processing of data as described:
When you sign in with Google, Ping requests only the permissions necessary to provide the service. Below is a complete description of each permission, what data it gives us access to, and how we use it.
openid, email, profile — your name and email address, used solely to create and identify your Ping account.contacts.readonly — reads your Google Contacts: names, email addresses, phone numbers, job titles, and organizations. This is your address book — the foundation of Ping's recommendations. We import this data into your Ping account and use it to identify relevant contacts for your professional challenges.contacts.other.readonly — reads contacts auto-saved from your email interactions (people you've emailed but haven't explicitly added to your address book). Used to expand your contact list with real, active connections you may have overlooked.gmail.metadata — reads metadata from your Gmail messages: specifically, the email addresses of recipients in your sent mail and a count of messages exchanged. We do not read, store, or process the subject lines, body content, or attachments of any email. This metadata is used solely to calculate how frequently you communicate with each contact — a "relationship score" that helps Ping distinguish close colleagues from distant acquaintances and surface the most reachable people first. We store only the frequency count per email address; no message content of any kind is retained.calendar.readonly — reads your Google Calendar events to identify meeting attendees and meeting frequency. We do not read event titles, descriptions, video call links, locations, or any content other than attendee email addresses and event count. This is used to calculate how often you meet with each contact, contributing to their relationship score alongside Gmail frequency. Ping's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide and improve the features described in this policy, and is not used for any other purpose.
When you sign in with Microsoft, we request the following permissions:
User.Read — reads your Microsoft profile (name and email address).Contacts.Read — reads your Outlook contacts (name, email, job title, company) for import.We do not access your calendar, emails, files, or any other Microsoft data beyond what is listed above.
You can delete your account and all your data at any time — contacts, recommendations, and cached profiles — using the Delete Account button in your profile (also available on the results screen). This permanently removes your account and data from our database and logs you out.
